Each includes a plastic liner that prevents marring of your rod and reel combo. For added protection, secure your gear in place with our rod safety straps.
Flip-Down Footrest
For added comfort as you sit back to relax or cruise down the waterway, the Fishmaster Original Leaning Post features a flip-down footrest with all stainless-steel hardware. When not in use, the footrest can be flipped up to provide additional space on the boat’s deck.
Designed to Fit an Ice Chest/Cooler Underneath
We understand that space is at a premium on your boat. That’s why we designed our Original Leaning Post to make the most of the space it takes up by accommodating an ice chest or cooler up to 31 7/8” wide (typically 72 quarts) underneath.
Easy Assembly and Installation
You don’t have to be an engineer to install our products. The Original Leaning Post is assembled using just six bolts – it’s so easy anyone can do it! In fact, choosing a spot on your boat for installation will likely be the most time-consuming part of the process.
To support the DIY’er we’ve created detailed, illustrated instruction manuals as well as assembly videos that you can follow as you install your own leaning post. And of course, if you have further questions, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Original Leaning Post Tech Specs
6061 MARINE-GRADE ALUMINUM
1 11/16” (or 42 mm) diameter tubes are cut and cold-formed to provide precise measurements and an impressive strength-to-weight ratio.
28 AND 32 OZ. MARINE-GRADE VINYL
The vinyl used in our seat cushions has been ASTM G21 tested for mildew resistance. It also resists UV degradation, heat aging, cold cracking, and fading. Cleaning this vinyl is simple and can be done with non-abrasive household cleaners.
POLYESTER THREAD
We choose high-quality materials when manufacturing our products. The polyester thread used in our leaning post upholstery resists degradation from the summer sun and saltwater environment.
A high-density T236/26 foam is used to mold the seat cushion of the Original Leaning Post. This ensures that, when exposed to water, the seat with allow moisture to flow through rather than absorbing it like a sponge meaning you’ll never have to worry about having a water-logged seat. The density of the foam also holds its contoured shape over time. The bottom of the seat is covered with black oxford cloth that does not promote the growth of mold.
The Fishmaster Original Leaning Post is available in two finish options to complement any boater’s needs – anodized and powder-coated. The anodizing process involves a dip in an anodizing bath which adds a protective coating that stands up to years of use in harsh marine environments and should be regularly polished to maintain its protective finish. Powder coating, on the other hand, involves building up layers of protective coating and heat-curing that coating to create a hard shell around the tubing of the leaning post and requires little to no maintenance. Both finishes will look great on your boat for years to come – the choice is yours!
